More about me
I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was a young boy. I started super young selling lemonade on the side of the road on the hot Utah summer days. When I was 12 years old I started my first lawn care company, mowing a couple of lawns in our local neighborhood. There were many days I couldn’t get a ride from my father and his truck to mow lawns. I would load the edger on the lawn mower and start walking to my lawn care accounts. I did that until I went off to college to study business at Utah State University. I also started selling cars to pay for school, I gained a love for sales so I switched my degree to a professional sales degree from Weber State University. But I was always side hustling, by selling things on Ebay, I always had tons of business ideas in my head. My wife often jokes, I would sell her if she would let me… that will never happen but I have bought and flipped a ton of items over the years.
The entrepreneur blood just kept flowing through my blood. In August of 2015 I was sitting on the couch, I decided I would start a window cleaning business. With low start up cost, I figured I knew sales and I can get customers. I knew nothing about window cleaning, I went to the local Home Depot and spend about $150 on window cleaning equipment. I then went home printed some flyers and watched youtube videos on how to clean windows. Saturday I packed up the gear, headed out to knock on doors, within 1 hour we had the first window cleaning customer. The rest is history, and I still have the window cleaning business which is continuing to grow year after year.
But during this journey I have had a ton of low entrepreneurial moments, that is what has inspired me to start this podcast The Phoenix Entrepreneur. I was inspired to keep going during the low moments from other entrepreneurs, and that has led to me having a true passion for helping others, especially when it comes to business and entrepreneurship. Join me on this journey as I interview successful entrepreneurs about their low moments and what they did to rise from the ashes!
